WORKING PRINCIPLE

Linear mechanical screens are generally placed in the channel vertically or at a 60–75° inclination. While wastewater passes through the screen openings, large particles are retained on the surface. These materials accumulated on the screen surface are automatically transported upward by chain or belt rake systems. Solid materials are transferred to the discharge chute or press unit located at the top. The rakes clean the surface by moving up and down between the screen bars. This movement is driven by a motor-reducer system. The system automatically activates according to the level difference sensors or time-controlled operation principle. Depending on the plant's flow rate and wastewater characteristics, screen spacing is generally selected between 3 mm – 25 mm.
