In industrial facilities, ventilation means not only comfort but also process safety and operational continuity. As PİLSAN, we design and implement long-lasting and safe PP (polypropylene) ventilation systems especially in facilities dominated by chemical vapors, acidic gases and corrosive atmospheres.
PP material is an ideal solution for industrial ventilation with its light structure, high chemical resistance and low cost. PP systems provide advantages both technically and economically in every environment where corrosion, metal fatigue or rusting is a problem.

APPLICATION AREAS AND SYSTEM TYPES

PP ventilation installations are usually used in environments such as laboratories, treatment plants, chemical and food factories, galvanizing lines, acid-base storage. In these systems, the aim is not only to discharge air but also to ensure gas tightness, low pressure loss and homogeneous air distribution.

All lines are sized specifically according to the facility's internal volume, flow rate requirements and chemical properties of the gas.

MATERIAL AND DESIGN

PP (polypropylene) material is preferred for both its lightness and high resistance to acids and bases. The PP sheets and pipes we use are manufactured in accordance with TS EN ISO 15494 standard.
Circular or rectangular section channels are usually used in Ø110 mm diameters in systems. The design of each system is calculated according to air flow rate, channel velocity and pressure loss parameters. Optimum air velocity in channels is usually kept in the 8–12 m/s range; this velocity is ideal for both quiet operation and particle transport.
Friction loss calculations are made in high flow rate or long-distance lines and fan selection is optimized accordingly. PP channels are designed together with diffuser intake hoods, flow directors and droplet separators.

PRODUCTION AND ASSEMBLY

The difference of PİLSAN is in the engineering discipline in manufacturing and installation, not just in design. All PP channels and fittings are produced with CNC-controlled cutting and extrusion welding machines.
  • Welding operations are performed by certified personnel in accordance with DVS 2207-11 standard

  • Connection elements are joined with flanged, socket or welded systems

  • All welds are checked to guarantee air tightness

  • Suspension systems are specially designed for PP channels, metal suspension elements are isolated with PP to provide galvanic protection against chemical vapor

  • Glass fiber reinforced PP (PP-GF) or PVDF transition parts are used in high temperature regions against the deformation risk of PP

  • The installation process is fully digitally controlled. Channel route is determined from 3D CAD model, field compliance is checked with LIDAR or laser measurement devices

  • Welding and connection plans are digitally recorded

VENTILATION PERFORMANCE AND TESTS

After the system is completed, air flow rate, pressure difference and tightness tests are performed during the commissioning phase. Each line is tested in accordance with EN 12237 (air tightness class) standard.
Fan performance, channel friction loss and the system's overall pressure balance are measured. In chemical gas discharge systems, emission concentrations at the air outlet are compared with environmental regulation limit values. These tests show that the system not only works but fully achieves the design goals.
